New episodes from P3 Documentary can be found first in Sveriges Radio Play. MOVE is a radical movement that strives away from modern society, founded in the 1970s by John Africa in Philadelphia. They call the earth Mama and protest for animal rights and against police brutality. They grow their hair in dreads and see themselves as a family. **On May 13, 1985, hundreds of police officers surround the MOVE house.** Several MOVE members are in prison after a police officer was killed in a violent confrontation in 1978. A few years later, the movement moves to 6221 Osage Avenue in Cobbs Creek in West Philadelphia, where tensions with neighbors and authorities continue to grow. When the group refuses to leave the house, a shooting breaks out that lasts for hours. In the afternoon, the police drop a bomb from the helicopter on the house. The bomb ignites a fire that the authorities deliberately let burn. The fire spreads uncontrollably and destroys 61 homes in the neighborhood. Eleven people die, including five children. Only two people survive. Hundreds become homeless and the event later came to be described as one of the most devastating days in Philadelphia's history. Almost 40 years later, the event is updated again when it turns out that the Penn Museum had remains of the children who died in the fire. **Participants:** Linn Washington Jr, journalist. Jim Berghaier, former police officer. Ramona Africa, MOVE member and survivor of the fire. Janine Africa, MOVE member. Janet Africa, MOVE member. Eddie Africa, MOVE member.
