Hamouda's Triangle

From اشتري مني

So, does all this mean we're living in a conspiracy? Or is it all a figment of our imagination? In the "Hamouda's Triangle" episode, we discussed all the forms of conspiracy we create in our imagination, how we perceive them, and why we think about them that way. And what about the alien invasion? We assumed their arrival and what we would do with them when they come down and sit with us. And then, what are all these myths we see on social media and its black boxes? And please, "Correct me if I'm wrong," you won't understand until you finish the episode to the very end. The "Hamouda's Triangle" episode is now available on all podcast platforms and will be released on Monday on YouTube.

Refuge in front of the screen: On the possibilities of participatory cinema

From Eib | عيب

In the film "Tell Them About Us," director Rand Beiruty chose to give up the traditional director's seat and sit alongside the women behind the camera. She worked with seven immigrant women in Germany from Arab, Kurdish, and Roma backgrounds for them to write the film's scripts with their voices and experiences, in an experiment described as participatory cinema, which returns the power of storytelling to its owners and breaks systems of control over image and representation.

Is the International Criminal Court's Future in Peril?

From Arab Talk with Jess & Jamal

Dr. Ezequiel Jimenez discusses his article published in Opinio Juris, “The 24th Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute: Time to Act.” In the article, he explains that, given the ICC’s current state of polycrisis, it is imperative for member states of the Rome Statute to take concrete action to confront the Court’s existential challenges rather than continue the status quo of issuing ineffective resolutions.

Israel’s Ethnic Cleansing Plan for the West Bank

From Arab Talk with Jess & Jamal

Supported by Israeli security forces and enabled by government policies, settler violence has become a central component of the Israeli state’s strategy to forcibly displace Palestinian communities in the occupied territory. This approach aims to establish full Israeli control over the area and facilitate further settlement expansion, despite such settlements being illegal under international law. Photojournalist Oren Ziv has extensively reported on settler attacks across the West Bank. His documentation shows that since October 7, more than 50 rural Palestinian communities have been emptied after residents were compelled to flee amid escalating assaults, threats, and harassment by Israeli settlers—almost always carried out with the backing of the army and police. Oren is a photojournalist and reporter for Local Call and +972 Magazine, as well as a co-founder of the ActiveStills photography collective. His work has also appeared in Al Jazeera, Vice, Tablet, and other publications.

Dr. Jabr is a world-renowned psychiatrist and writer who has spent more than twenty years practicing in the West Bank and Gaza. Her latest book is Radiance in Pain and Resilience.
