Mario Forster has criminal energy, no doubt. Repeatedly, he has stolen, cheated, embezzled, and sold stolen goods. Leaving Memmingen prison in 2009 after a three-year sentence, he's mainly interested in one thing: How can he get a lot of money as quickly as possible? The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) provides an answer. Mario should work for them in the future, not despite, but precisely because of his criminal past. Mario agrees, unaware that he is entering a double game he will lose.
Attention, top secret: In this episode of Mordlust – Crimes and their Backgrounds, we talk about confidential informants, also called V-Leute, who are police informants in criminal groups and milieus to gather information about past or planned crimes. Why do people choose this dangerous job, which always involves betrayal? How helpful are their insights? And how far can the state go for the success of an operation? You will find out all this in this episode.
Experts in this episode: Klaus Nachtigall, former Berlin LKA investigator and police chief commissioner, and criminal defense lawyer Alexander Schmidtgall.
