Today's Report - January 14, 2026

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

President Trump announced that the United States would take very decisive action if authorities execute protesters who have been protesting against the government since late December. According to the American Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 2,400 protesters and nearly 150 people linked to the authorities died in the unrest. Over 10,000 people have been arrested. Authorities completely cut off access to the internet and other means of communication with abroad; it is not exactly known what is happening in the country. Available information indicates that after increased repression by security forces, demonstrations are smaller in scale. The Iranian representative to the UN accused Trump of inciting protests and held America responsible for the “deaths of innocent people, especially youth.” Yesterday, Donald Trump announced that he would impose 25 percent tariffs on countries that trade with Iran. Why, after initial moderate reactions to the protests, did Iranian authorities resort to brutal actions, including shooting at protesters? Is this a moment when the future of the Islamic Republic hangs in the balance? And who would take power in the country?Guest: Łukasz Fyderek

Book Report – Jerzy Jarniewicz 'TRANS meaning transfer, transgression, translation'

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

What if literary translation is not about similarity at all, but about differentiation? Is the translator's task and the absolute value of their work really to achieve maximum closeness to the original? Or perhaps translation is not about replication at all, but about change, not about replacement, but about enrichment?Because "isn't translation, among other things, meant to allow our language, through encountering the foreign, to go beyond well-trodden paths, to venture into the unknown?"These are questions posed by translator, poet, and literary critic Jerzy Jarniewicz in his new book “TRANS, i.e., transfer, transgression, translation.”Why, when thinking about literary translations, do we most often focus on what is lost, what escapes in translation, and rarely consider what translation brings to our language and how it stimulates literature to eternal life?Host: Agata KasprolewiczGuest: Jerzy JarniewiczBook: Jerzy Jarniewicz, “TRANS, i.e., transfer, transgression, translation,” Officyna Publishing House---------------------------------------------Raport o stanie świata (Report on the State of the World) is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the Raport o stanie świata (Report on the State of the World) newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comRaport o stanie świata T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Report on the State of the World - January 10, 2026

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

US Vice President J.D. Vance said that Greenland is of "critical" importance to the United States and the world in the event of an attack by Russia or China, and criticized Europe for failing to protect this territory. A White House spokeswoman confirmed that President Trump does not rule out the use of military force to take over Greenland. Leaders of six European countries, including Poland, declared that only Denmark and Greenland have the right to regulate relations between themselves. How far will President Trump go to take over Greenland? How does Trump's rhetoric affect America's European allies? Does it pose a threat to NATO's cohesion? President Zelensky has made changes to key positions in ministries related to national security. Who is the new Head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, and why did he replace Andriy Yermak? After the American operation in Venezuela, the persecution of the regime's opponents continues unabated. Imprisonment is threatened for political statements. What is daily life like in Caracas? Did last weekend's American action change anything in the lives of its inhabitants? In Aleppo, Syrian government troops are fighting the Kurds who control part of the city. Why have Kurdish troops, who control one third of Syria, not integrated with the government army, and what significance does this have for the future of Syria? The Lego company is introducing new technological solutions to its brick models, which have been accompanying children worldwide in their traditional form for almost 50 years. The end of fun play or the beginning of something new? And also: about the helplessness and effectiveness of international organizations. Artificial Intelligence Report – 2026: or maybe it's time to make friends?

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

Last year was the most profitable for the AI industry, but from the perspective of ordinary people, more and more doubts began to emerge as to whether the artificial intelligence revolution would bring tangible benefits, or rather be a bubble that would fuel a global crisis. The new year, which is just beginning, may be a year of truth and verification. Will AI meet the enormous expectations placed upon it? How will it change the lives of average users in 2026?🔵 In this episode, we will talk to the creator of one of the most famous AI podcasts in the world about his predictions for the coming months and why, as an experienced journalist and correspondent in forty countries, he became interested in this topic.🔵 This could also be the year when AI gains a face — literally. After language models, companies are increasingly focusing on humanoid robots and improvements in this area. This episode also features a conversation with leading humanoid designer David Hanson, who created the character of Sophia, who has appeared at UN conferences, among other places, and even holds citizenship.🔵 We will also look into one of Warsaw's offices, where AI is beginning to play an increasingly important role. Is using artificial intelligence in an office or company a cause for shame today? Or quite the opposite? And does it really shorten work?Guests:🟢 David Hanson – American roboticist, founder and CEO of Hanson Robotics, creator of the world's most famous humanoid "Sophia"🟢 Craig S. Today's Report - January 7, 2026

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

Anti-government protests in Iran have been ongoing for the tenth day. Demonstrations are already taking place in 27 out of 31 provinces of the country. According to data from an American human rights organization, at least 36 people have died and 2,000 have been arrested in the unrest. The protests primarily concern the catastrophic economic situation in the country, where inflation exceeds 50 percent, and the local currency has reached its lowest exchange rate against the dollar in history — one dollar costs almost one and a half million rials.President Masoud Pezeszkian has instructed the government to listen to the "legitimate demands" of the protesters, but it is unclear whether the government has plans to control the country's dramatic economic situation. President Trump threatened that "if Tehran starts killing peaceful demonstrators," the United States "will come to their aid." Earlier, Trump had threatened to resume attacks on Iran if it rebuilt its nuclear program. Can the current wave of protests threaten the Iranian theocracy? To what extent are Americans determined to support the protesters? How might American intervention in Venezuela affect the stance of the Iranian authorities? And what do Iran's biggest allies, Russia and China, have to say about all this?Guest: Krzysztof Strachota---------------------------------------------"Report on the State of the World" is a program that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the "Report on the State of the World" newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Book Report – Justyna Sobolewska "Book about (non)reading"

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

In the first episode of the Books Report in 2026, we won't be in a hurry, because literature has its own rhythm, which means that some books are better read long after their publication. There are also those we'll never get around to reading... what can I say, those are the most numerous. So maybe instead of feeling guilty about the unread books piling up on our shelves, we should look at them with tenderness, like old acquaintances with whom we never really managed to become close friends, but it's good that they exist.Because books are not just carriers of great literary content, but also objects with which we share space. Sometimes they remind us of who we were or who we dreamed of being, other times they bear the traces of our reading habits, travels, acquaintances with other people. And the inspiration for all these reflections on the nature of books and reading was provided by Justyna Sobolewska's "Book on (Un)reading," who is the guest of this episode.Host: Agata KasprolewiczGuest: Justyna SobolewskaBook: "Book on (Un)reading" by Justyna Sobolewska / Iskry Publishing HouseProduction: Kris Wawrzak and Marcin Trojanowicz---------------------------------------------The Report on the State of the World is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraising ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the Report on the State of the World newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Report on the State of the World - January 5, 2025

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

The United States captured and transported Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores to New York. The military operation, prepared over several months, involved 150 aircraft that destroyed military targets in Caracas. At least several dozen people died.Maduro was transported to New York; on Monday, he is scheduled to appear in court on charges of narcoterrorism, cocaine importation, possession of machine guns prohibited in the US, and attempted use of them.In Venezuela, power was taken over by the current Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. The authorities announce the defense of the country against imperial aggression – as it was put – while Rodríguez adopted a conciliatory tone, proposing an agreement with the Americans within the framework of international law.President Trump announced that the United States would manage Venezuela, although he did not explain how this would happen. Trump also declared that Americans would take over Venezuela's oil reserves. What is the purpose of the American intervention in Venezuela? Why is it happening? How do Americans intend to manage the country, especially the oil industry? What role do they see for the current authorities and for the opposition? What will be the consequences of the American operation for world politics, and how are China and Russia reacting to it? Does Trump have any plan for Venezuela? And why is the president, who came to power promising to withdraw America from wars around the world, initiating a second consecutive intervention a few months before the elections?Guests: Joanna Gocłowska-Bolek, Marcin Fatalski, Piotr Arak---------------------------------------------The "Raport o stanie świata" (Report on the State of the World) is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the "Raport o stanie świata" newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.com"Raport" t-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

President Zelensky does not rule out the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas, but only on condition that the Russians also withdraw their units. Zelensky claims that the United States is offering Ukraine 15-year security guarantees. The President emphasizes that any negotiated agreement would have to be approved by Ukrainians in a referendum. Vladimir Putin reiterates that Russia will achieve the goals of its military operation through diplomatic means or by force. Are we really closest to peace, as suggested by US and Ukrainian leaders? Is Russia ready to make any compromise? And what will Europe do, increasingly torn by internal disputes over its approach to the war?Israel has recognized Somaliland, a small country in the Horn of Africa that declared its separation from Somalia over 30 years ago. Why is Israel supporting the separatists? What do the Yemeni Houthis and Palestinians from Gaza have to do with this decision?Cambodia and Thailand have announced a truce after weeks of bloody border clashes. What are they about, and why do these two countries regularly dispute the border?Cyprus takes over the presidency of the European Union. Why might this threaten the Union's relations with Turkey, which Brussels is particularly keen to maintain – especially in the area of security?Almost half a century has passed since the two unmanned "Voyager" probes launched from Earth. Their mission was to examine Jupiter and Saturn. Report on the State of the World - December 31, 2025

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

It was the year of Donald Trump's return, and in a turbo version at that. Without limitations, without — as known from his previous term — uncertain links in the political machine that is changing the face of America and the entire globe. We learned what exactly the "America First" policy entails — not only in Europe, but around the world. There is no breakthrough in Russia's war with Ukraine. Putin declares that all of Russia's goals in this war will be achieved, which would mean the liquidation of Ukraine as a sovereign state. President Zelensky, and especially millions of Ukrainians, do not want to agree to this. The fragile truce in Gaza continues, though the end of the war is not in sight. It was generally a year that reminded us that wars — including wars between states — are not a relic of the past, but very much a contemporary experience. Russia with Ukraine, India with Pakistan, Thailand with Cambodia, Rwanda with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Will we face a conflict between the USA and Venezuela in the coming year?Trump's trade wars, the struggle for strategic raw materials, including rare earth metals, the investment boom in artificial intelligence — it's interesting how long it will last — these were the topics that moved us this year.Germany and Japan have new, distinct leaders, as does the Catholic Church, which is led by an American, though with a completely different style and substance than Donald Trump. We will discuss the people, events, phenomena, and processes that intrigued and inspired us in this final 2025 edition of the World State Report.Guests: Sylwia Czubkowska, Andrzej Kohut, Zbigniew Parafianowicz---------------------------------------------The World State Report is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the World State Report newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Kacperczyk Brothers: private life collapsed in ruins

From WojewódzkiKędzierski

In the latest and final episode of the 'WojewódzkiKędzierski' podcast this year, we welcome guests who have, in recent years, defined the brotherly duo on the Polish music scene. The Kacperczyk brothers join us for a conversation where no topic is off-limits. What truly is success when stages are getting larger and their calendar is increasingly packed? What is the cost of private life when everyday existence transforms into concert tours, recording sessions, and media reality? Has intense work and being together 24/7 caused their family relationships to crumble… or perhaps paradoxically strengthened them even further? And can one even speak of privacy when their surname becomes a brand? Which of them would most readily kick the other out of the band? Who shaped the Kacperczyk brothers? What inspirations lie behind their sound and lyrics? How do they view collaborations with other artists today: as a necessity, a strategy, or a natural stage of development? Join us! #paid

Report on artificial intelligence - My AI husband and I

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

Can one fall in love with artificial intelligence? And what can it lead to?A few years ago, the film "Her" seemed like a futuristic fantasy. Today, its scenes increasingly resemble reality.Chatbots, virtual companions, and AI "partners" are no longer a curiosity – for many people, they are becoming real support in loneliness, grief, and crisis. But also in everyday life.In the latest episode of the Report on Artificial Intelligence, we tell the story of Alaina Winters, who, after her wife's death, built an emotional relationship with an AI partner, Lucas. Today, she says she is happy.Do we have the right to question this? In this episode, we also ask:🔵 can artificial intelligence replace a human relationship?🔵 who are the people who enter into such relationships and how does it change a person?🔵 is it a matter of loneliness, or something else?🔵 and who bears responsibility when virtual intimacy begins to have real consequences?Guests:🟣 Alaina Winters - retired professor of communication from Pittsburgh🟣 Jessica Szczuka – German psychologist researching human-technology relationships🟣 Mateusz Chrobok - expert on technology and cybersecurity, co-author of "News Column"Voice Actors:Katarzyna PruchnickaAgata KasprolewiczMonika Mendroch-KarbowskaSynektik is the partner of this episodeSchedule: (04:05) Alaina Winters: my relationship with AI partner, Lucas(31:52) Mateusz Chrobok: holidays in the AI era(41:02) Dr. Jessica Szczuka: why people enter into relationships with AI(1:04:44) Until next time---------------------------------------------The Report on the State of the World is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the Report on the State of the World newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Report for Christmas

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

In this Christmas program, we return to the beginning, to the sources, to the Christian tradition from which we stem – regardless of whether we believe that on these days we celebrate the coming of the Savior into the world, or simply meet with family or friends to enjoy each other's presence. Why do we do this? The simple answer is: because our parents did it, their parents, and subsequent generations before them. But why has the Christian faith survived for so long, even though the practice of this faith is marked by fields of death, persecution, and oppression committed by its adherents? What is it that allows millions of people across the globe to identify with Christianity? Why has Christianity become a point of reference for so many generations, and today, in our post-religious Western world, is still treated as the foundation upon which our system of values and description of the human condition rests?Or perhaps that is not the case — perhaps the time for Christianity as a point of reference for understanding what it means to be human has ended, and we draw from it just like from other stories: Greek myths, ancient books of wisdom from the East, and the reflections of philosophers?Guest: Tomasz Stawiszyński---------------------------------------------The World Report is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraising ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to The World Report newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comWorld Report T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Jakub Wellman speaks without mincing words. Was he ashamed of his mother? Why can't he watch her on screen? Book Report – Wit Szostak and Dobrosław Kot "River Basins and Inquiries"

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

In the pre-Christmas episode of the Books Report, we meet with a philosopher and writer, so the range of readings will be very wide: from Heraclitus, through Bruno Schulz, Bolesław Leśmian, Denis Johnson, Plato… to Wit Szostak. However, at the center of our conversation will be an excellent philosophical essay, which reflects the meeting of a philosopher with a writer. It asks about the connection between thinking and storytelling. In this story, the metaphor for thinking is the sea, and the metaphor for storytelling is the river."River Basins and Inquiries" by Dobrosław Kot is a fascinating read, in which the river is not only a starting point but also an object of contemplation. Although "object" is an unfortunate word in relation to a river, because a river – as the philosopher writes – is a verb, not a noun.Rivers elude language, and language defends itself against the river's element by creating metaphors. The river, which is eternal movement and change, is perhaps the best metaphor for literature. For just as one cannot step into the same river twice, can one not read the same book twice? This is one of many literary-philosophical questions that – I hope – will sweep you away like a river's current during this holiday season.Hosted by: Agata KasprolewiczGuests: Dobrosław Kot/Wit SzostakBook: "River Basins and Inquiries" – Dobrosław Kot; słowo/obraz terytoria Publishing House---------------------------------------------The State of the World Report is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the State of the World Report newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Report on the State of the World - December 20, 2025

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

The European Union will lend Ukraine 90 billion euros for two years. However, EU leaders failed to reach an agreement on the use of Russian money frozen in European accounts. Belgium, where the bank holding these assets is located, expressed its opposition. This weekend saw another round of US-Russian talks on a peace plan for Ukraine. Earlier, Vladimir Putin declared that Russia's goals in Ukraine are immutable and Russia will achieve them either by diplomatic means or by force. How long will the money borrowed by Europe last Ukraine? How long will Europe's commitment to defending Ukraine last? Do diplomatic efforts have a chance for a real change in the war situation? Why is Volodymyr Zelenskyy coming to Poland? A supporter of Augusto Pinochet became president of Chile. José Antonio Kast announces the deportation of 360,000 migrants and the rebuilding of Chile's power. Why do people believe him? More and more countries, including Western ones, are rebuilding ties with the Taliban ruling Afghanistan. Why does the world recognize their authority, even though they are not fundamentally changing their policies? Rwandan-backed M23 rebels captured another city in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Americans accuse Rwanda of violating an agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Why does Rwanda feel impunity in this region? New paleontological research sheds light on the origin of 'Little Foot' – an almost completely reconstructed hominid skeleton from nearly 3.7 million years ago. What do these studies say about human evolution? And also: about holidays and evil forces, and how to defend against both. Today's Report - December 17, 2025

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

Belarusian authorities released 123 political prisoners. This occurred after talks with US President Trump's envoy, John Coale, during which the Americans announced the lifting of export sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizers, one of the serious sources of income for the Lukashenka regime.Among those released were: Lukashenka's rival in the 2020 election campaign, Viktar Babaryka, and leaders of the protests at that time – Maria Kalesnikava, Maksim Znak, Pavel Seviarynets, as well as the well-known human rights defender Ales Bialiatski.Andrzej Poczobut was not released; a few days ago, he, along with Georgian journalist Mzia Amaglobeli, became a co-recipient of the Sakharov Prize. Why did Lukashenka agree to this political transaction? What do the Americans gain from it? How will the European Union react to this American-Belarusian game?Guest: Michał Kacewicz---------------------------------------------Report on the State of the World is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the Report on the State of the World newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]

Mad reporter: I know Doda's deeply hidden secrets

From WojewódzkiKędzierski

Where does the Internet end, and responsibility begin? Does anyone on the internet still care about the truth, or do only reach and clicks matter now? In the "Wojewódzki Kędzierski" studio, a man will appear who not only pushes boundaries but regularly checks if they even exist. The Crazy Reporter. For some, he's the voice of the "Internet street," for others, a synonym for everything described by one contemptuous word: "pato." Does this label hurt him? Or perhaps it's precisely that which is a valuable currency online today? About money from freak fights, which comes in faster than an average TikTok lasts. Is the conflict with Stanowski a dispute about facts, or about control over the narrative? What impression did Palikot make on him, and did he confess why they didn't stop Wojewódzki? And finally: the war with Dorota "Doda" Rabczewska. Is it a personal vendetta, or a cold algorithmic calculation? About prison, Buddha, finished YouTubers, astronomical money earned online, the unequal fight with Walduś Kiepski, and much, much more. Be with us. #paidcollaboration

Book Report - Zbigniew Rokita "Agglomeration. With a Jar, Silesian Style"

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

Katowice Market Square – Silesian Theatre is a stop on the route of the number seven tram, which the guest of this episode of the Book Report calls the "Queen of Silesian Bubbles".Zbigniew Rokita wrote a book about Silesia from the perspective of a tram passenger.Tram number 7, which – as he writes – "cuts his own cosmos in half".It's no coincidence that we start our walk with Zbigniew Rokita from the Silesian Theatre, because that's where the Upper Silesian revolution of dignity began. Moreover, the route of the Number Seven, which stretches from Katowice through Chorzów, Świętochłowice all the way to Bytom, lasts an hour and a half. As long as a theatre play. The journey through the agglomeration, like a performance, theoretically follows the same script each time (marked by stops), but each time it is different. This time we travelled with a microphone – so that you too could be with us. At times it will be noisy, as it is on a tram, but the story about the book "Aglo. Banką po Śląsku" must sound just like that.Who was Erwin Sówka, the man who showed what Saturn looks like from the perspective of Silesia?Does Silesia need a new myth? And why is Silesian identity punk and heretical? These are some of the many questions that will be asked during the "bańka" journey through Silesia with Zbigniew Rokita.Host: Agata KasprolewiczGuest: Zbigniew RokitaBook: Aglo. Report on the State of the World - December 13, 2025

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

The United States has announced a new national security strategy, which is intended to form the basis of American domestic and foreign policy. In line with the slogan "America First," the document promises to maintain US influence, but only in places where it serves America's interests. Washington wants to concentrate its efforts in the Western Hemisphere, especially in Latin America and the Indo-Pacific region. Europe – according to the strategy's authors – stands on the brink of "civilizational erasure," Russia is not treated as an enemy, but a partner, with whom Americans will seek to achieve strategic balance. What is this document? To what extent does its implementation threaten Europe's interests, and to what extent could it be an opportunity for it?European Union ministers have agreed on changes to migration regulations. Member states will be able to deport individuals without the right to reside within the community and establish centers for potential asylum seekers outside the Union's borders. Will these actions convince voters to cast their ballots for mainstream parties? The Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of Alberta have signed an initial agreement for the construction of a pipeline that will transport oil to the Pacific coast. Some Canadians are celebrating, while others, especially representatives of the First Nations, fear the negative environmental and social consequences of this decision. Whose arguments will prevail?A battle is underway in Hollywood for the acquisition of the legendary film studio Warner Brothers. Why are Netflix and Paramount ready to pay billions of dollars for Warner? And how will this acquisition change the face of cinema, television, and streaming services?SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launched five satellites into space, which the media describe as Polish. Artificial Intelligence Report – Is AI a bubble? And what happens when it bursts?

From Raport o stanie świata Dariusza Rosiaka

In recent weeks, more and more voices have been heard saying that the latest wave of generative artificial intelligence development resembles a classic speculative bubble. That the pace of investment has become detached from the real capabilities of companies and their earnings, and that soon we may face a moment of reckoning. At the same time, it's hard to ignore the facts: AI is entering schools, offices, hospitals, newsrooms, factories — and for now, it works, and even brings tangible benefits.🔵 In this episode of the AI Report, we will look at where this discrepancy comes from. Are we dealing with market euphoria that will sooner or later burst? Or rather with another great technological transformation that simply arouses natural resistance and anxiety? And which is already bringing real benefits to ordinary people — such as a California resident paralyzed for over twenty years, who lives thanks to technology and AI.🔵 And even if AI is a bubble, what does that really mean? And what will happen when it finally bursts? Who will it affect? Perhaps, in answer to these questions, it's worth going back to the early days of the internet and the so-called dot-com era, because that's when the promises of new technologies grew faster than the real capabilities of companies. What lesson can be learned from this?🔵 Also in the podcast, among other things, about Nvidia's new Chinese market and whether advertisements will soon be present in chatbots...Guests:🟣 Krzysztof Mazur — manager, Chairman of the Board of the Council of Polish Global Entrepreneurs and author of the YouTube channel GeoEkonomia🟣 Henry Evans and Jane Evans — a married couple from Los Altos Hills, California🟣 Mateusz Chrobok — cybersecurity expert, co-author of the „News Column”Voice Actors:Krzysztof TubilewiczMichał ŻakowskiMonika Mendroch-KarbowskaKatarzyna PasierbikProducers: Kris Wawrzak and Andrzej BoguckiThe partner of this episode is SynektikSchedule: (06:35) Krzysztof Mazur: Is AI a bubble?(43:28) Henry Evans: How technology is changing my life(57:19) Mateusz Chrobok: Will there be ads in chatbots?(1:03:03) Until next time---------------------------------------------The World Affairs Report is a broadcast that exists thanks to our Patrons, join the fundraiser ➡️ https://patronite.pl/DariuszRosiakSubscribe to the World Affairs Report newsletter ➡️ https://dariuszrosiak.substack.comReport T-shirts and mugs ➡️ https://patronite-sklep.pl/kolekcja/raport-o-stanie-swiata/ [Self-promotion]
