Following a death and over ten injuries in protests against diesel subsidy removal, Ecuador's Parliament agreed to analyze Imbabura events and assess potential public force abuses against protesters. "We are living in very turbulent times. Protesters only requested [Daniel] Noboa fulfill his campaign promise, not to remove that subsidy because it affects Ecuadorians' economy," said Luisa González, Revolución Ciudadana Movement president and former Ecuadorian presidential candidate. "Ecuador is the second most violent country globally. An Ecuadorian dies hourly, and the leading cause of death in children and adolescents is murder. Noboa had already applied measures in 2024 to change laws and guarantee security, but violence and insecurity grew. The Armed Forces have neither equipment nor fuel for vehicles," she added. "I don't dialogue with those who impoverish, kill, and destroy my people," she concluded. Milei returned from the US tour and continues the electoral campaign. The Argentine president returned from New York with the US Treasury's promise to provide tools to "stabilize the economy." Now, Milei will travel to Tierra del Fuego to support local candidates for the national legislative elections on October 26th. "Milei's erratic policy puts Argentina in absolute international marginality. The Government has no economic plan, only tries to sustain the dollar's price. Those tricks of arranging with one sector or another to arrive well at the elections continue," said Gabriel Fuks, Parlasur legislator for Unión por la Patria and former Argentine ambassador to Ecuador. "It's a strong alignment of Argentina with the US.
